From avocado, mango, and durian in Central Java to citrus and jackfruit in Bali and beyond, the types of trees planted vary by region, reflecting local ecosystems and community needs. Trees are planted in yards, gardens, and village lands, often on property owned by local residents, ensuring that the fruits of this effort, both literal and symbolic, remain within the community.
